Chapter 21

Dressing to go out to the clubs for the evening, Amber was putting the final touches on her makeup when she heard Cassidy calling her name from the living room. “In here, just finishing up.”

Poking her head into her friend’s bedroom, Cassidy grinned seeing that Amber wasn’t going to blow her off this time as she had the last two weekends, even though she couldn’t pry out of her what had her in such a funk. “Hurry up or we’re going to have to pay a cover charge. So how’s the new job?”

“It’s great. That’s why I’m going out. I’m celebrating! Oh, while I finish up could you put that guitar back in the spare room?” She hadn’t had the heart to remove it from her bedroom since that morning when she woke to being serenaded by Bed of Roses. Now she needed to forget Jon, if he’d wanted to get in contact he would have.

“Spare room? Since when do you call it that and not the Jovi Room? Speaking of which, tickets go on sale next Saturday morning for the show in Philly. We are doing the camp out, right?”

“I don’t know. I’ll have to think about it, I don’t get paid...”

Snorting at the notion her best friend would miss a Bon Jovi show “that’s why God made credit cards. Besides, you have a Jovi fund, just like I do.”

“Let me think about it, just put the guitar away. I’ll be ready by the time you finish.” Checking her hair again, she touched the corner of her lips with her little finger to smooth the lipstick and headed into the closet for her shoes when she heard a loud screech coming from her spare room. Rushing towards it, she had no idea what the commotion was about, while Bounce ran the opposite direction headed for under the bed. “What’s the matter?”

“Nothing if you tell me all these came with the personal inscriptions.” Cassidy was stunned by not just that every single item was personalized, but that Amber hadn’t said a word about him being in her house. They’d been friends since grade school and Amber was the one that got her the receptionist job at Evan’s. Amber wasn’t one to hold back secrets, not from her and to see the evidence of Jon having been inside her best friend’s house was a shock she didn’t anticipate.

Entering the room, Amber was about to ask who she was talking about when she stopped dead in her tracks. Her favorite Keep the Faith poster of Jon in his Jesus pose now sported a very distinctive autograph, as did her clock, the Slippery album cover she had hanging on the wall, a Soul football and a dozen or two other pieces of memorabilia. Not one of them just had his name, no, the man personalized every single piece. “Oh My God! He did not do this!” Grabbing one of the multitudes of magazines laying on the end table she discovered he’d even penned his name on it. Her attention turned to the guitar still in Cassidy’s hand and saw he added her name and a smirk to that too. “I need a drink.” Turning to leave the room, hoping to hide her tears, Amber suddenly lost her desire to go bar hopping.

“You’re not keeping this one to yourself. You had Jon Bon Jovi in your house and you are going to tell me about it.” Cassidy was adamant that she get details, they’d shared every detail of their dating lives since high school along with their love for Bon Jovi’s music and lust for the sexy lead singer.

Sighing, there was no way around telling her “he stopped by after the Habitat dinner.”

“Stopped by, just like that and you had no intentions of telling me?”

“Nothing to tell. We had drinks and I fell asleep. He must have done all that while I was sleeping.” The half-truth rolled off her tongue a little too easily for her. Opening the fridge, she found the bottle of Pinot that she’d opened the day before and poured Cassidy a glass, tipping the bottle to her own ruby lips.

“Right, you had drinks with Jon Bon Jovi at your place and fell asleep while he was still here. That doesn’t ring any truer than it’s all about the music. Bullshit, Amber!”

Smiling softly, she recalled that evening, the slow dance with him, the scent of his cologne that he laughingly admitted was Dreamer when he found a bottle on her vanity, the feel of being stuffed full of him and the taste of wine on his lips along with a tinge of her own flavor. It was romantic and hot, sexy and intense, then it all fell apart when Rafe called and she handed Jon his walking papers followed by her proclamation that all men were swine. “It is all about the music for me.”

“And I go see the band for Hugh! Like hell. So did he call after or anything?”

Shaking her head sadly, “no, I gave him a ride to Evan’s party and that was the last time I’ve seen him. He doesn’t even know my last name, much less my number.”

Recognition dawned “oh my god! That’s who that was!”

“Who?”

“A guy called the office a week ago Wednesday. He asked for Amber Sullivan.” Digging through her purse, Cassidy continued talking “I thought the voice sounded familiar, but I couldn’t place it and he did say his name was Jon. Next thing I knew a messenger arrived for you and I meant to bring it to you, but Evan got crazy and you wouldn’t answer your phone. Shit, I knew I put it in here somewhere. Then the new guy started and did I tell you Evan hired some wet behind the ears punk to take your job? So I got busy and you got the new job and you’ve been so busy and where the hell is that?” Pausing, she stopped and then dug in another corner of it, coming up with the note. “Here it is! See, Tell Amber I want to take her to dinner. And here’s the messenger’s note with his number, 774-4311.” Frowning then “no area code. Damn it, there isn’t any area code.”

“You got this almost two weeks ago and you are just now telling me?” Her voice was this side of panic. By now he would think she wasn’t interested. “Shit Cassidy, area code or not, you should have given it to me then. I can’t call him now, it’s been too long.” The bottle of wine returning to her lips.

“Sorry, I didn’t realize that Mr. Love the Color of Whiskey was Jon Bon Jovi and where the hell did he come up with such a corny line?”

Sheepishly she admitted her long kept secret “the trip to Miami.”

Miami? You met him on the flight to Miami? Or was it the flight home? What else are you keeping from me?” Now she was convinced there was something juicer than autographed items and them having drinks together. Cassidy thought back to those days spent on their beds as girls dreaming about what they’d do with this particular rock star and his partner if they got a chance at either of them and now she was getting a strong sense that Amber already had gotten a chance or two.

“On the way there. There was turbulence and I fell into his lap. His and Richie’s actually. We chatted and that was it.” She still wasn’t going to tell her friend with a mouth the size of Texas that she’d joined the mile high club with him, nor was she about to share that he’d serenaded her in bed.

“I don’t get it, if there’s nothing to it, why didn’t you tell me?”

“You’d tell everyone else. I’d never hear the end of it and a certain someone would accuse me of being a groupie or a whore or something if she even suspected I slept with him, which I’m not saying I did, but still.”

“I would not!”

“Yes you would Cassidy. I love you anyway, you’re my best girlfriend, but you cannot tell anyone about this!” Staring at the number again she wanted to call him and accept the dinner invitation, she wanted to feel him filling her again, his clever tongue between her legs bringing her multiple orgasms, his lips on hers and his voice low and growling in her ears. She wanted to, but knew she’d never be able to bring herself to do it, he was a rock star and she was just a fan. Laying the paper by the phone, she upended the wine again and forced her thoughts away from the rasp of his crinkly fur against her breasts, his scruffy face scratching her cheek, his muscular arms encircling her and the beautiful words he purred in her ear.

Harrumphing, Cassidy finished her wine eyeing the one person she knew that deserved a guy like Jon, but would never believe that of herself. “Just answer one question. Was he everything we dreamed about?”

Dreamily, Amber nodded absently, “and more. Let’s go to the bar, I suddenly don’t want to be here.” Grabbing her keys, she led the way out, it was the only way she could ensure Cassidy didn’t ask more about Jon since she’d made it clear it was a closed subject.

Chapter 20

Sitting in his office, Jon stared out the window at the New York City skyline wondering if Amber received his flowers and had forgiven him for being the same species as Evan and Rafael. Even though Evan told him her last name before he took off in the Mustang for home on Sunday evening. He still didn’t have any number to reach her except her office number and so far she hadn’t returned his call that he made after hours by going through the company directory to get her extension.
That was Monday evening, this was now Wednesday and he was starting to worry she might have really written him off as an arrogant rock star that used her only for sex. It had been pretty damned great sex, but it was the woman that had him daydreaming when he should be reading contracts and getting the final decisions made for the upcoming tour. Tickets would be going on sale in a week and he had to sign off on everything before they started the whirlwind round of promos before that happened, instead he was sitting here like some untried teenaged boy worrying whether or not the girl he liked, liked him back. Fiddling with his pen, his long fingers twirling it around in them in distracted nervousness as he fought the urge to call her again.

“Hey Bro!” Richie wandered in without knocking and watched Jon for almost a minute before announcing his presence, aware now that his mind was elsewhere and something was eating at him or he wouldn’t be torturing the pen the way he was.

“Hey yourself” standing to greet his friend that was more brother than friend, grateful for the distraction from the blond hair and brown eyes that were haunting every waking and sleeping minute. “So how’s our girl, Ava?”

“Beautiful, smart, getting big and turning into quite the little soccer player. How about your kids?”

Shrugging, he grinned, “same, getting big and I’m missing all of them. What brings you down here?”

“I was in town. Hungry?”

Realizing he hadn’t eaten since morning, which was completely unlike him, Jon stood, stretched and followed his buddy out the door noticing that while he was in form fitting jeans and a purple dress shirt along with a sports jacket, Richie was in baggy Dockers and a t-shirt. “So what brings you to town?”

“I don’t know, some guy called to cajole me into doing a late night talk show with him? Know the guy?” laughing when Jon rolled his eyes since he’d forgotten all about the talk show circuit that was starting that night.

“Shit, man. I forgot all about it. Thanks for remembering.” Locking his door as they left, Jon followed Richie out to the elevator. His errant thoughts wandering to Amber and why she hadn’t called back yet, checking his cell again for missed calls.

“Where the hell are you man? Did you hear a word I said?” Unused to his partner’s distracted state of mind had Richie concerned.

“Huh? Sorry, I’m just a little preoccupied.”

“Tell me it’s business.”

“I wish I could, man.” Leaning his head back against the elevator wall. “I got myself woman trouble.”

“Aw shit bro, you don’t need that. We’ve got a tour coming up, you’re going to be on the road and we can do some serious partying!”

“It’s not like that man, she’s different, hell, she’s a fan. I can’t get her out of my head.” Exhaling, he stepped out of the elevator as the doors opened and they headed for a nearby favorite lunch spot.

Shaking his head, Richie watched as Jon lowered the sunglasses that had been on his head and strolled down the street seemingly unaware of the women watching the pair of them. “So tell me about the woman that has you in a tizzy.”

“You’ve already met her. Blond, brown eyes, landed on our laps on that flight to Miami?”

“Shit, you’ll never find her, give it up man.”

“She works for Evan Mitchellson, my buddy from school? He was trying to fix us up at that Habitat deal I attended over the weekend, didn’t know we’d already met. Problem is she thinks all I’m looking for is sex, can’t seem to convince her otherwise.”

“So call her up and ask her out on a proper date.” Slipping into a booth in the back facing the door so Jon’s back would be to it and they’d be less recognizable.

“I would if she’d just return my calls. I left a message at her office on Monday after Evan’s party and she’s ignoring me.”

“Call again. Who knows maybe their phone system deleted it. Besides, you can sweet talk any lady.” Grinning when Jon rolled his eyes.

“Yeah, maybe you’re right. I’ll call when I get back and ask her out to dinner.” Staring at the menu now convinced it could have been their phone system, the two of them enjoyed lunch and went back to the office afterwards to discuss some of the tour details before Richie headed out.

Dialing up Evan’s company, he waited for the receptionist to answer, “Amber Sullivan, please.”

“I’m sorry, she no longer works here.” Nervous at the silence on the other end of the phone, Cassidy had to ask, “is this personal or business?”

“Does it make a difference?”

“She’s a friend of mine, so if it’s personal I can get a message to her.”

Somewhat relieved, Jon thought a moment more before carefully wording his message, “just let her know that Jon called and I wanted to take her out to dinner.”

Writing it down, her curiosity got the best of her, after all, his voice sounded vaguely familiar, “were you the amber colored flowers?”

“Did she get them?”

“Yeah, I took them to her house. She knows who you are, right?” Something about the low purr of his voice was vibrating deep inside her and he wasn’t even asking her out.

“Oh yeah, she knows. What was your name?”

“Cassidy O’Conner, I’m Amber’s best friend.”

“Okay, Cassidy O’Conner, if you could make sure she gets the message I’d be exceedingly grateful.” Seeing his assistant standing at the door impatiently waiting for his signature on a stack of bills, Jon nodded for her to enter. “I’d appreciate any help you can give me, thanks. Bye.”

Hanging up the phone after saying goodbye herself, Cassidy’s hands were shaking, whoever the John guy was that wanted to date Amber, he had the sexiest voice she’d ever heard...this side of Jon Bon Jovi, that was. Blowing off the idea of calling Amber with the message, she stuffed it in her purse with every intention of dropping it off to her friend on the way home.

Chapter 19

Settled in at home in her favorite lounge pants and baggy t-shirt with a cold bottle of Pinot Grigio, Bounce curled in her lap purring and Kate and Leopold in the DVD player, Amber was finally calm enough to think about what she’d done and her future. No matter how many times Evan called her answering machine that she was ignoring or how much he offered to get her back, she was done with him and his immature, chauvinistic bullshit. Even though she was now officially unemployed, she somehow felt relieved by it and already had an interview set up for next Monday morning at the offices of one of Evan’s biggest competitors.

That made her smile even more as she watched Hugh Jackman’s Leopold getting accustomed to modern days, waiting for the scene where he and Kate sat on her balcony and listened to the old man across the way playing “Moon River” on his stereo. The romance of the movie got to her every time she watched it and today was no exception, only wishing that Jon was the lead in the movie and she was Meg Ryan’s Kate.

As hard as she was trying to get the man out of her head, she couldn’t stop thinking about how gentle and sweet he was, how he made her feel special and needed when, in fact, they barely knew each other. She knew him a whole lot better than he knew her, only from the standpoint of a fan, a very devoted fan, something that he knew too and hadn’t balked at all when he saw the evidence of it himself. Or she corrected herself, didn’t mention any hesitation when he was sprawled out on her bed or had her impaled on his very talented cock. Licking her lips unconsciously, she tried to focus on the movie as she absently grabbed another Dove Dark Chocolate Promise from the bag that was ripped open and scattered all over the couch.

“Hey girlfriend! These came for you after you left today. Somebody’s got an admirer, you got roses this morning.” Cassidy breezed into Amber’s house with her own key, since they exchanged cat sitting they also exchanged keys. “I saw the roses in the kitchen, somebody said you pitched them?”

“They were from, Rafe.”

Tossing her bag on the chair, she placed the large bouquet of gold, yellow and tawny colored flowers on the coffee table blocking Amber’s view of the movie, before heading to the kitchen to get her own glass. “These are prettier anyway. Evan was in a foul mood all day. Said you quit! Spill the details!”

Laughing as her girlfriend kicked off her shoes, padding around in her bare feet and made herself at home, Amber stared at the flowers that obviously weren’t from Rafael since she’d already disposed of those. “When you get settled.”

“Come on! Open the card or I’ll do it for you. It’s been killing me all day to know who the mystery guy is.” Returning from the kitchen and now squirming in her chair, Cassidy flipped back her long curly black hair and tried to get comfortable when she was anxious for information.

“I don’t want to!”

“I’ll do it if you don’t!”

“I’ll do it later.” Her heart was tripping at the prospect of them being from Jon, yet Evan was just underhanded enough to attempt to bribe her with them. Not completely certain that she wanted to know that Jon Bon Jovi was capable of sending flowers to a woman that turned him down. Thinking about it for a minute she wondered how often women actually turned the man down.

“Like hell you will!” Reaching forward she plucked the card from the bouquet and slapped away Amber’s hands as she attempted to stop her from reading it. Scanning the card Cassidy whistled low before reading it out loud with overemphasized drama “Amber, love the name, love the color, same color as whiskey.” Flipping the card over, she didn’t find a signature, then poked through the flowers with the same result. “What the hell? Some guy sends you flowers like these and doesn’t sign the card? They had to cost at least a hundred bucks.”

Seeing her friend’s far away Cheshire grin she knew there was a story behind it. “Who is this guy? You’ve never said a word about anybody other than that fucking snake Rafael. He and Evan left together tonight arguing about something and Evan seemed pretty damned steamed about whatever it was. Speaking of him, what happened to you two? I thought Rafe was going to propose.”

“So did I, apparently he did that over a year ago. Didn’t you see that little bimbo that Summer was all cozy with at the party? That was Rafael’s wife!”

Fuck me! The sleazebag is fucking married? Let me at him, I’ll castrate him and feed his genitals to him! How could he do that to you? If I was you, I’d be devastat....wait a minute, you’re not even acting like you’re upset.” This was not the Amber she’d known all her life or nearly so, sitting on the couch calmly eating chocolate and watching a sappy movie wasn’t Amber’s MO. Breakups usually meant eating frenzies with pizza figuring prominently in the picture, although the wine and chocolate were present.

“I’m not. Never felt better about myself. I ditched a lying, cheating asshole boyfriend and my male chauvinist pig boss in one morning. Then I got myself an interview set up with Evan’s major competitor for Monday morning. Evan never did appreciate what I’ve done for him and this project they’re doing, it’s going to stink like rotten cheese. It’s terrible.” Smiling gaily she stood to find the phone to order a pizza anyway since she hadn’t eaten and it now sounded good. “Staying for dinner?”

“Pizza?” Nodding when Amber confirmed it, still there was something about Amber’s demeanor that smacked of a secret she wasn’t sharing.

Chapter 18

Exhausted from crying herself to sleep the night before, Amber rolled over and slammed the snooze alarm button at least three times, cursing that it was already morning and began debating on whether or not she’d even bother to go to work. Between the deal with Rafe, meeting his wife, Summer being a snarky bitch and Evan’s inappropriate comments, she really didn’t want to deal with any of them today. Seeing Evan and Rafael would be a given since they had a meeting to discuss their latest project and she was expected to attend. Groaning when the alarm sounded again, she dragged herself out of bed and hit the shower. Giving either of them the satisfaction of knowing she’d cried all night wasn’t happening, not today, hell, not ever.

Dressed in an outfit she knew would pop both of their eyes out, she felt satisfied and headed out the door determined to not show any outward sign that they’d affected her negatively. Turning on her radio, she automatically pressed the CD button and the strains of Bed of Roses filtered into the car. Cursing her immediate physical reaction to hearing it, she flipped it to Wanted, memories of Jon sitting on her bed serenading her weren’t associated with that song at least.

Fairly certain that after her behavior last night she wouldn’t have the pleasure of him in her bed again, despite the pleading in those azure blue eyes. No, she was going to have to forget his touch, his taste and the heady scent of him after making love. Turning the music up in an attempt to drown out her memories of his naked body next to hers, the slight rasp of his crisp chest hairs against her sensitive nipples, the yielding tender feel of his lips on hers....stop it....it was just a fling for him...forget Jon Bon Jovi!

She attempted to force herself to believe he wasn’t interested in more than sex, even when a tiny corner of her brain rationalized that he sounded sincere. Remembering then that he not only didn’t know her last name, he’d never asked for her phone number and she doubted he knew her home address, even if the limo driver was told it Saturday night. Convinced now that she was little more than an easy lay, her self-loathing at being so easy for him kicked her in the ass a little harder.

By the time she made it into the office she’d worked herself into a foul mood and her temper was simmering just below the surface. Walking past her friend that was the receptionist, Amber didn’t acknowledge anyone as she went straight to her desk that was adored with a bouquet of astonishingly beautiful deep red roses. Picking the card out, she saw they were from Rafael with an apology that she snorted at before she grabbed the cut crystal vase and hauled them into the kitchen where she deposited them vase and all in the trash to the bewilderment of those making their morning coffee. Sneering as she exited, she flipped back a comment “not my color”. Returning to her desk she buried herself in the work waiting until it was time for the meeting and then got up, grabbed her pad and the notes she would need to go over with the two men that currently were at the top of her shit list.

“Amber, could you get us some coffee? Rafe takes it...”

“I know how Rafael takes his coffee, Evan, just like I know how you take yours and you know what? Neither of you have broken legs, so get your own damn coffee! I’m not your waitress; I’m the production assistant. I came here prepared for this meeting, why didn’t you?” She knew that Evan was going to be pissed, but at this current moment she didn’t care, thinking to herself, so much for not showing her emotions.

One eyebrow shot up at her impertinent attitude. “Still having female problems?” It was the only thing that Evan could attribute her bitchiness to since she was the least confrontational woman he’d ever know.

“The only female problems I have are related to that bitch you’re married to, I don’t know how you put up with her.” Amber knew she was digging a hole and should shut up before she lost her job, yet she didn’t give a shit.

“That was uncalled for!”

“No! The way she treats me is uncalled for. I’m not interested in sleeping with you like she seems to believe. I didn’t come in here to discuss her though. I came to discuss this project, that in my opinion is going to bomb. The storyline is weak, the characters aren’t believable and worse yet, it’s way over budget and we haven’t even shot one scene.” Sitting down when she wanted to storm out, she waited to see how he took her proclamation. It was only then that she noticed Rafael sitting at the other end of the table listening intently to their argument, not that she cared what he thought right now. She was still too angry at having been so badly used.

Sitting back in his chair at the head of the table Evan considered her words carefully, too stunned that she panned the project that he was pushing for more money from the board of directors because of his faith in it. One thing he knew about her, she had a keen sense of what would sell. “And at what point had you planned on telling me this before you got so upset this morning?”

Shrugging Amber looked directly into his eyes. “I wasn’t. It’s your baby.”

Needing a cup of coffee, Rafael stood and headed out, he’d heard enough of this conversation “Evan, I’m going after coffee, you want some?”

“Yeah, black with three sugars. Thanks.” He waited for Rafe to leave before he continued. “Why are we so far over budget?”

“Because Mr. I’m the Hottest Thing Since Spielberg is spending stupid amounts of money on locations when we can use the studio’s sets. He wastes more money than we have in the entire budget. Couple that with the fact that this whole script sucks and we’re going to lose money. I told you when you first started this that I thought it was a mistake, but you weren’t listening, you were too busy trying to look down my blouse.”

“I never.”

“Yes, you did. I’ve also told you that our competition offered me a better paying position and you said you’d get me a raise. That was six months ago, Evan. When I got home last night there was another message on my voice mail. I quit.” His entire attitude made her decision for her, she’d been getting offers for the last couple years and it was time to make the change. Standing, she laid her notes in front of him. “Have a nice life, Evan.”

Rafe was entering the room as she left “why were the flowers I sent in the trash?”

“Because you’re a philandering asshole that needs to keep his pecker in his pants or your little trophy wife might find out what kind of scum she married. Stay the fuck away from me, Rafael.” Then she was gone to remove her personal belongings from her work area, as she left she invited Cassidy to stop by after work to celebrate finally telling Evan off.

Chapter 17

“My sweet Amber, how have you been?” Rafael purred to her as they strolled down to the shore of Evan’s property. He didn’t anticipate Juliana arriving for at least another hour and by then he hoped to have Amber reeling from sexual exhaustion and on her way home. The boathouse was the perfect place for a brief tryst and he longed to settle himself inside her welcoming cunt. It wasn’t like she was anything more than a play toy in his mind, telling her lies came easily and she was so naive that she believed everything he told her. Explaining Juliana wouldn’t be necessary if he played his cards right.

Feeling the hand on her back as they passed through the trees where the rest of the party couldn’t see where they were headed, Amber wondered at the lack of sensation when Rafe touched her that she’d felt every other time, there was no tingle, no heightened desire for him. Worried that Jon ruined her for the man she anticipated marrying within the next year and almost angry that it may be possible.

As they walked, Rafe was telling her all about the latest project they were working on as if she didn’t have the daily updates at the office, he loved to expound on the brilliance of his work, how well the actors responded to his direction and she tuned it all out this time, her mind occupied with another man’s brilliance of another kind entirely. Seeing the birds soaring overhead reminded her of the events earlier in the day when Jon’s face was between her legs and she was doing her own soaring. Memories of the intensity of the blue in his eyes as he watched her come apart at his hands were forever seared on her brain and the delicacy of his lips against hers when she cried afterwards was more than she expected from any man. Lost in her thoughts she was only marginally aware of them entering the elaborate boathouse where Evan kept his pair of supercharged speedboats.

“My sweet you haven’t said a word since we left the party, what’s on your mind?” His smooth voice with its Latino accented syllables finally found their way through to her brain.

Looking around her, she was slightly alarmed when she tried to reason that she should be at ease with this man. “Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts. What did you say?”

“I asked if you missed me.”

“Yes, of course.” Panic started to creep through her. “What are we doing here, Rafe?”

Crushing her against him, Rafe’s mouth swept down on hers before she could form a protest, his tongue invading her mouth as she suddenly pushed her palms against his chest to get away from him. Something felt so wrong here and she cursed herself for having verbally shoved Jon away as well, but that was self-preservation. “Stop it! Rafe, get off of me!” She protested as he wrestled with her, attempting to get her back in his grasp and stop her from struggling, he was determined to be inside her sweet, hot cunt that she’d given so freely ever other time they’d been together.

“What is wrong?”

Get .... off.... of.... me!” Amber didn’t want to scream, but if she couldn’t get him to stop pawing at her, she would.

Rafael loosened his hold on her and trained his very practiced injured gaze on the exquisitely attractive beauty in his arms. “I have longed to feel your body against mine, to touch the soft satin of your skin. You are the angel in my dreams, my sweet Amber, whatever is wrong?”

Shaking off the anxiety that was gripping her gut, Amber forced a smile “I don’t know, I guess it’s been a while and I’m just nervous. I’m sorry I was late for the airport. I...”

He put his fingers to her lips, “hush my sweet, let me kiss away your fears.” His mouth came down on hers again and this time she didn’t fight it, surrendering to the familiarity of his embrace. Entering her mouth with his tongue he sensed her softening against him and probed deeply while his hands roamed freely against her flesh under her blouse, unsnapping her bra and smoothing her skin as he eased the tension he felt there.

Amber for her part closed her eyes and pretended it was Jon fondling her, relaxing against the so recent memories of his invasion of her body. Hating that he set aside her dismissal of him so easily that he could act as if it hadn’t happened when he approached her at the party. The chill of the afternoon against her bare skin brought her back to the reality of the situation, this wasn’t Jon, this was Rafael, her fiancé or soon to be fiancé and she should be responding to him instead of dreaming about another man.

Opening her eyes she realized her blouse was wide open, her bra shoved above her breasts and her pants were down to her knees, while she was pressed against the rough wood of the boathouse wall. Rafael was suckling her left breast and his fingers were stroking her lips that were still tender from Jon’s touch, she could feel her body was responding to Rafe’s ministrations, yet her mind was screaming for him to stop that it was wrong! When his fingers entered her she gasped, then shoved him with all her might away from her, grabbed her pants and pulled them back up, clutching at her blouse she ran into the bathroom and locked the door against him.

Tears started pouring down her cheeks, she wanted Jon, not Rafe to touch her so intimately and she ruined any chance of that happening on the way here. The sound of Rafe pounding on the bathroom door begging her to unlock it reverberated in her head. He deserved an explanation, one she couldn’t give him without telling him that she’d slept with Jon and that was one secret she’d never reveal. Finally he stopped and she sat there for a time before she realized that it was getting dark. Shakily she zipped, snapped and buttoned everything back into place, checked her makeup that was ruined, but washed away the signs of her tears and headed back to the party, not that she was interested in joining it.

The first person to find her was Summer, who had a stunningly beautiful woman with her that she vaguely recognized from somewhere. “Amber darling, where on earth have you been? I’ve been wanting to introduce you to Juliana all evening. Juliana Montero, this is Amber Sullivan. This is Rafael’s wife, they’re celebrating their first wedding anniversary this weekend.”

Wife? I didn’t know Rafe was married” feeling even more the fool for having allowed the cad to fondle her in the boathouse, not to mention the affair they’d carried on for the last two years or so. The longer she stood there listening to Summer speak glowingly of Juliana’s career as a model, the more Amber’s fury built at being played by the man that apparently didn’t see the necessity of telling her of his nuptials. Finally having had enough, she excused herself and walked directly over to where Rafael was chatting amiably with Evan and of all people, Jon. “Excuse me.” She waited as the three men paused to give her their attention.

Jon could see the fire in her eyes, having seen her speaking with Summer and Juliana he guessed at where that anger was directed and wasn’t about to warn either one of the men he was standing next to what he suspected was coming.

“You look out of sorts, is that period of yours giving you another headache?” Evan inappropriately teased.

“No. I just wanted to wish Rafe congratulations on his first wedding anniversary.” She itched to hit him with all her fury, yet was too focused on preserving her job for that. The fear in his eyes was small consolation for the humiliation she felt at his hands. “I hope you and your wife are happy together. As for my period, it’s none of your damned business, Evan. Good night.” Grabbing her suit coat that was draped over one of the chairs, she flounced out of the party and towards her car with Jon in hot pursuit.

“Amber, could we talk for a moment?”

“NO! I’ve had it with men right now. You’re all pigs. Leave me alone.” Tears were stinging her eyes and she wanted away from him as much as she wanted to be in his arms.
Sensing her indecision, he moved towards her to offer her consolation, yet the moment he did so, she bolted for her car, started it and skidded out of the parking lot. Jon prayed she got home safely and vowed that once she calmed down he’d call her and prove that he sincerely was interested in pursuing a relationship.

Chapter 16

Jon held the car door for her, not quite certain what was going through her mind, at the same time planning how he was going to smooth things with Evan and find out more about this Rafael fellow. He didn’t care for what little he heard of her phone conversation and wanted to know exactly what was going on. Sliding into the seat next to her as she started backing out of the driveway, Jon flipped on her radio and grinned. “Nice selection.”

Frowning, Amber snappishly turned it off “nobody told you to mess with my radio.”

About to say something, he bit back his remark, rethought it and then spoke calmly and hoped soothingly “I wasn’t being sarcastic. I meant what I said. This Left Feels Right is the best record we ever did and it still hurts that people hated it.”

“I’ve heard you say that before, I love it.”

“Thanks. I’m sorry if I pissed you off. I just couldn’t stop myself from kissing you and it just led to...”

“Exactly where we both wanted it to lead. I should have more control around you, but I don’t. My job includes picking up people at the airport and I’ve never messed that up before. Now I’ll have to face Evan and he’ll guess what we were doing since I’m bringing you to the party.” Tears started to sting the backs of her eyes and she fought against them refusing to allow him to see the importance of Rafe not finding out what she’d done with Jon, hoping that Evan wouldn’t tell him.

“If that’s a problem for you, I’ll get out at the street and walk up after you get there. I’ll say I caught a taxi. I don’t want your reputation compromised.” He meant it, their relationship was at a very early tenuous stage and he didn’t want to lose her before it got started and for some reason he couldn’t quite put his finger on, he wanted this relationship to work.

Quickly looking over at him, she asked hesitantly “would you? I really don’t want anyone talking about this.”

“Sure darlin’. Don’t want you to get a reputation or anything.” Immediately after the words came out he regretted them. She was way too sensitive for any of his little remarks it seemed since she again looked like she would cry. “I’m sorry. Damn, I can’t do anything right here. Look, I want to see you again, go out on a proper date and you don’t act like you’re interested.”

Gripping the wheel a bit too tightly, she wanted to swing at him, there wasn’t any reason for him to be sweet talking her when they both knew it was just a quick roll in bed and done. Pulling up to the curb, she glared hard “this is where you get out Mr. Bon Jovi. You think you know me and you don’t even know my last name, much less my middle name to quote you. I recognize a fling when it happens, wake up and you will too Mr. Rock Star, now get out.” She wanted to cry or melt into his arms or take back everything she just said, but had to break ties with him to preserve what she had with Rafael. He was her future, not the rock star sitting on the passenger seat of her car, his electric blue eyes looking wounded.

Jon couldn’t respond, he was too stunned for words, so he climbed out of the car and stood on the sidewalk as her car disappeared into the gate of Evan’s house.

Amber sat in her car shaking, fearful she’d cry and even more afraid that she just made the worst mistake of her life. She’d dreamt of him half her life, slept with him and instead of reciprocating his almost believably sincere affection; she pushed him away wondering now what kind of world class fool she must be. Forcing herself to calm down, she exited the car and headed to the back where she knew that Rafe would be by now and would expect a full public apology.

Hanging back near the shrubbery that bordered the drive, Jon watched as she cautiously headed towards the party swearing at himself for developing feelings for a woman that obviously had issues. He’d seen enough of that with Richie and had no interest in falling into that trap himself. Waiting a reasonable amount of time, he followed into the back yard and what he expected to be a large corporate party.

Chapter 15

The kiss deepened as she anticipated it would and wanted to lose herself in this moment afraid it would be her last taste of the man that was giving her well planned out life pause and reason to re-think Rafe and everything he stood for. His tongue assaulting her senses was making reason and logic fly away as desire and longing took its place. Fingers in her hair and inside the wisp of panties that barely covered her ass were her undoing as that luscious, sensual mouth was leaving a trail of hot, wet kisses down the slender column of her neck, talented fingers already releasing her bra and seeking her full, sensitized breasts that ached to have his lips on them. Groaning at her need, in a last ditch effort she mumbled something about leaving for the airport, hearing only the sounds of Jon’s mouth and lips sucking on her nipple through the thin material of her blouse that shredded any further conscious thought. Her hands tangled in his hair, holding him against her breast that tingled with streaking pleasure, only partially aware they were moving back towards the bed, his other hand stroking between her legs and the wet core of her longing to having him inside her. Suddenly his lips and hands were gone and she briefly mourned the lack of his touch, then saw the smoldering need in his eyes and stood silently waiting as he stripped her blouse over her head and undressed himself in seconds, carrying her down onto the soft comforter with him.

Jon wasn’t certain why he had to have this woman under him as often as possible and the thought of her picking up another man at the airport sent frissons of jealousy through him that he didn’t understand. But now seeing her naked beneath him, her nipples diamond peaks glistening with his saliva, her eyes heavily lidded, hands reaching for him and the little needy sounds emitting from deep within her were a drug that he was quickly becoming addicted to. Coming down hard onto her lips, he devoured hers, wanting, needing more, demanding with his body everything she could give and she responded in kind, this wasn’t like what they’d enjoyed all night, this was intense, hungry loving that each sensed the other craved. His hands were everywhere, touching, memorizing and treasuring for fear she was serious about this being a fling, although for him he couldn’t imagine there was any way either could stop what was building between them. She cried out when his teeth bit down on her nipple and he felt her trembling with the beginnings of her orgasm, his fingers almost roughly probing and stroking her drenched lips while her hand was tightly gripped around his cock fondling it in her own need to touch and take what he was offering.

Jon grabbed the pillows and yanked them down to where they were thrashing on the bed in the sexual contest to see who would get what they wanted first. He needed to be inside her before he came on her hand, his cock was throbbing with its need and it wouldn’t take long before he’d be beyond holding back. Seizing her body, he flipped her over the pillows and thrust inside before she had a chance to protest, her scream of orgasm, the feel of her vagina pulsing around him as she flew over the edge causing him to exhale forcefully as his own orgasm followed. Never had he felt something so powerful as that moment of release with little more than entry sending him to nirvana. Falling forward against her back, he could feel the little flutterings of her muscle spasms still clenching around his cock and he pushed up inside her again in response, smiling against her as she gasped at the sensation, still half hard he pumped a few more times, his fingers tweaking her super-sensitive nipples and felt as much as heard her sob when she found another orgasm. Lying there against her back, he hated that they needed to clean up and return to their real lives, wanting to be with her and to prove that she wasn’t just a good fuck, even if she was the most incredible one he’d had in memory. Pulling away, his hand couldn’t resist touching where his cock just vacated, sliding along the sticky wet folds, slipping up to her sweet little bud that he knew would still be throbbing in her post coital bliss and pinched it between his fingers, rubbing and flicking his fingers across its receptive surface.

Amber didn’t have the strength or desire to protest multiple orgasms, she feared she was falling for this man that would be gone in just a few hours and she’d be left with little more than memories of great sex and 24 hours of bliss. Lying against the pillow she pitched her bottom up higher to allow easier access, his hands were so soft and her mind was little more than quivering jelly to the sensations streaking through it. The insistence of his stroking was pulling her along, two fingers inside her, his thumb rounding her clit, his left hand gently stroking the planes of her bottom with an occasional smack that notched the need another level higher, a third finger entered and he found that place where she knew he would and all thought left as she soared again and passed out from intensity.

Going to the bathroom, Jon cleaned himself up, aware she’d be out for short minutes and rinsed a rag with warm water to return to the bed and began cleaning her as she laid on her back now, eyes closed and breathing steadily. Gently he cleaned between her legs in an attempt to remove the evidence of their lovemaking as she only stirred slightly from the careful ministrations he was performing for her. The sound of her cell phone going off didn’t even disturb her, rising and retrieving it he saw the caller ID said Rafe and suddenly he wanted to disconnect the call, even if she’d said he was a business associate. Rousing her softly, he called her name “you have a call.” The phone quit ringing and he frowned slightly “babe, that Rafael guy just called your cell phone, I think you’d better call back.”

Amber sat bolt upright at those words. “Oh shit! What time is it?” Looking at her watch she swore profusely and ran to her dresser pulling blouses out and letting them just hit the floor without thought “I’m going to be in so much trouble. Shit!” Settling on a pale blue one, she shimmied into it, saw how wrecked her carefully applied makeup was and cursed again running into the bathroom to repair it. Reappearing moments later, she saw Jon was dressed again too and seemingly waiting for something. “What?”

“I still need a ride to Evan’s and you need to call Rafael back.”

Flustered and not sure what to do, she hit redial and waited for Rafe to answer and then spoke in a rush before he could say anything. “Hi. I’m so sorry I got busy at home and then laid down for a couple minutes and must have slept longer than I thought. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes, just stay put. You’re at the Continental gate right? Gate 15?”

Jon couldn’t hear the answer, but would have been amused if he was the guy on the other end with her talking that fast without taking a breath, then he saw her face scrunch up as if she was upset by the answer she was getting. It took everything he had not to go to her and hold her in his arms, an overwhelming desire that he forced himself not to act on. This was all going too quickly for him to be comfortable with, yet she didn’t seem to reciprocate the feelings.

“Okay, fine. I’m sorry. I know it was irresponsible and stupid, but it happened. I’ll see you over there, yes, I’ll call Evan and explain. Good bye.” Off the phone she glared hard at Jon sitting on the edge of her bed again looking so patient and without even trying, so incredibly sexy and edible. “That was all your fault! Rafael is furious that I wasn’t there to pick him up. Evan’s going to be mad too and I could lose my job over this. And you, what do you do? Just sit there looking all smug because you managed to make me late for my job.”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t intend on seducing you when you needed to do your job. You didn’t protest either.”

“How could I protest when the man I’ve dreamt about for the last fifteen years or so was kissing me? It’s not like I’m used to being kissed by the hottest rock god in the history of the world. Fuck Jon, I’ve wanted to lay you since I was fifteen. I’m thirty years old and every fantasy I’ve ever had you starred in and not one of them were as great as you are in real life. Now I’ve got to face my boss and coincidentally, your old friend and tell him that I blew off picking up our most important producer so I could get laid one more time by you. How the hell do you think he’s going to take it?” Stunned at herself for reading him the riot act, Amber blushed then for acting like such a bitch.

“Probably not too well if Evan is still like he was back in school. How about I smooth it over with him and this Rafael guy for you? I’m pretty good at smoothing ruffled feathers.”

Shaking her head vigorously, Amber could see disaster written all over this. “No! Do not even try to talk to Rafael. Not a chance. Just talk to Evan. I’ll take care of Rafe.” Pulling on a pair of sharply pressed slacks and the suit jacket that she intended to wear with the other blouse that was now laying on her floor, she straightened up and composed herself. “Are you ready to go Mr. Bon Jovi? You’re getting your ride to the party, just like you wanted.” Leading the way out of her apartment, she stopped long enough to feed Bounce and then exited, locking the door and wishing she didn’t have to be at this party. Not with Rafe and Jon both there and she guessed she was now in trouble with both.

Chapter 14

Sitting on her bed in his tuxedo pants and white shirt from the night before, Jon was drinking in the sight of her dressing, paying close attention to how carefully she was choosing every item of clothing and the thought occurred that he hadn’t asked if she had someone else in her life, being with her came so easily and he’d wanted her since their initial encounter in the plane. Discounting that idea since they’d spent the entire evening and night together without her once mentioning any entanglements that could encumber their budding relationship. Yet something about the way she was dressing, almost nervously, gave him pause. “Babe, it doesn’t matter what you wear, I’ll love it anyway.”

“Huh?” She swung around, still in her peach lace panties and bra with their tiny black ribbon running through them trying to find the low cut silk blouse that Rafe bought her the last time he came for a visit. She’d promised that she’d wear it when she saw him next and since his plane was landing in about forty five minutes she needed to locate it and find a way to remove Jon from her house before then.

“You seem determined to find something special and it doesn’t matter. You’ll look great in anything.”

Pausing for a moment, she couldn’t think of a way to gently tell him he needed to leave. “Thank you. I appreciate the sentiment, but I have to leave for the airport in about fifteen minutes.”

Startled, his eyebrows beetled together “I thought you’d give me a ride to Evan’s.”

Biting down on her lower lip, she reluctantly shook her head. “I can’t. I have to pick up a client at the airport, not exactly a client, he’s one of the studio’s producers, Rafael Montero and I have to take him to the party at Evan’s. I’m sorry.” And strangely she realized she was, she loved Rafe and up until last night she’d intended on accepting his proposal to marriage when he asked, since he already hinted about needing time alone. Jon changed everything and suddenly she wasn’t as convinced that it was what she wanted as she had been up until he reappeared last night. “I promised Evan a couple of weeks ago that I’d do the airport run. I’m sorry.”

“So why are you getting all dolled up if he’s just a client.” It was a question he couldn’t let go.

“I told you, nearly half the office and quite a number of our clients will be at Evan’s for this barbeque he invited you to. He neglected to tell you that, didn’t he? It’s not going to be the four of us, there will be nearly forty people there.” She hated that Evan was doing this to Jon without any forewarning of what he was walking into, not that he hadn’t done it numerous times very successfully, providing the party with celebrities that had no idea they were getting invited to something other than a private dinner. Most of the time the invited celebrity getting asked to perform or in some way provide entertainment.

“I could ride with you to pick up this client. I don’t mind.”

As much as she didn’t want to be the one to give her own personal rock star a reality check, she figured it was either her or it wouldn’t happen. “Jon, you don’t have to do this. There aren’t any strings, honest. I don’t want to be like that. I’m a big girl and I can take it. We barely know each other. I mean there was the really great fuck in the plane and last night and today that were incredible, but it was just sex. That’s what you’ve always said isn’t it?” Finding the blouse and slipping it over her head she tried to keep her eyes away from Jon, since every time those mind-blowing blue eyes landed on her she couldn’t think straight.

He felt as if he’d been kicked in the gut, nobody ever threw those words back at him, not a woman anyway. Every woman he’d ever met tried to turn a casual fling into some world class relationship and now when he was interested in exploring the possibility of a relationship with Amber, she was the one putting on the brakes. “Yeah, but that was years ago. I’d like to...”

“Jon, stop it. I’m a production assistant. You’re a rock star. We live in different worlds. I’m a fan that got incredibly lucky twice, please don’t ruin my memories of it. I have to go.”

“Amber, wait!” He was following after her as she escaped the bedroom, grabbing her purse, keys and slipping on her shoes as she attempted to leave the house without finishing their discussion. “You can’t leave like that!”

Swinging on him, she steeled herself against the pleading in his eyes to stay and talk. “I have to leave or I won’t be able to.”

Grinning in his particularly maddening way, his voice turned husky “I know that you’re anxious to go, but don’t you think you should finish dressing?” Seeing her eyes fly from flame to shock and astonishment in a split second tickled him and he began chuckling as the blush in her cheeks went from pink to bright red.

“You, you, you incorrigible man! This is all your fault.” Stopping for a moment, she thought about it and joined him in laughter. What was she doing walking away from the most generous man she’d ever slept with? Rafe was waiting, she knew he’d be at baggage claim before she even got there, it was how he was, always early even when the flight schedule said he’d be late.

Stepping forward he wrapped her in his strong arms, holding her gently, bending to kiss her forehead. “Incorrigible maybe, but wanting to get to know you better. Let me ride with you.”

“I can’t, Jon. I wish I could.” Watching his lips as his tongue edged across them providing moisture, longing to feel those lips on hers again when she anticipated that by evening’s end she’d be an engaged woman.

Smoothing a stray hair back from her face, Jon dipped his mouth lower and his words were barely a whisper on her breath “I wish you could too, I want to be with you, Amber.”

Her lips parted instinctively as they accepted his mouth on hers, sighing with the feel and taste of him invading her mouth as every nerve ending tingled in instant response, fully aware she would be late for the airport and would need to do some explaining quickly.

Chapter 13

Panic grasped her tightly, today was the 29th, how could she have been so stupid? How could Evan say they were grilling so casually? Rafael was going to be there, hell, half the staff would be there. Shit, shit, shit! What the hell was she going to do now? Rafael and Jon in the same place? Not that anyone knew she was seeing Rafe, hell, he lived in LA and she lived in Jersey, just across the river from her job in NYC. Because of company policy they had to be extra discreet and apparently they were doing a good job of it since Evan had no idea they were a couple.

How many times had they joked that if she ever got a chance with Jon that it was a ‘free pass’? Who would have ever thought that she’d get that chance, not once but twice and he was acting like he was interested in much more? Shit! Rafael was handsome, Latino and sweet as they came, he treated her like a queen, doted on her even and was incredible in bed, all things that she loved about him. Jon though, ah, Jon was her dream. He played guitar to her in bed, was fastidious about giving her orgasm either before or with him and was not only incredible in bed; he was just incredible period. What the fuck was she going to do? Standing there in the bathroom naked, she was frozen to the spot. How do you tell a naked international rock star that’s perched in the center of your bed that you have a steady boyfriend? Shaking herself back to reality, Amber grabbed a fresh washcloth and headed for the shower, at least there she could think clearly. Ducking under the flow, she relished the water streaming over her, closing her eyes to block out the dilemma she was facing. Shrieking when large, soft hands cupped her breasts from behind.

“Hey darlin’, what did I do to spook you so?” His lips nibbled on the edge of her earlobe as he spoke softly, confused by her sudden flight from the bed they’d shared and the growing feelings for her that were the first he’d had for any woman since finding his wife in bed with her karate sensei. “Whatever it is we can face it together.”

The feeling of his fingers fondling her breasts as his mouth brought wicked thoughts to her mind, Amber wanted to lose herself in this man, this moment and forget all about Rafael and the future he stood for, their life in California, the production studio they discussed opening and running together. Jon was here now and his hands were magnificent instruments that could bring her to life, take her places that even Rafael couldn’t. The sensations streaking through her straight to her core sidetracked her rational conclusions, greedy for more of him and what he’d awakened inside her. Leaning back against his solid chest, she surrendered to him and his fingers rolling her diamond hard nipples between them, squeezing them, that sinful mouth nibbling on her ear, her throat, holding her close, stroking against her with his magnificent rock hard cock that she wanted again and again all night and yet again now, wanted it, needed it inside her deeply where she could revel in the incredible orgasms he brought her. Moaning when his fingers dipped down into the folds of her hungry pussy, already drenched from being this close to him, her rock star that wanted her as much as she wanted him. Turning in his arms, she reached up to cradle his stubble covered face in her hands and drew it down where she could kiss those lips that she knew she’d miss once he was gone.

Hungrily his mouth covered hers, urging it open to savor the taste of her, his mind was lost in the need to be this close to her, his need frightening to him as he couldn’t remember needing anyone as much as he needed to be with this woman that bolted from their bed and he still didn’t know why.

Tangling his fingers in her long, wet hair he anchored her against him, taking everything he wanted from her, giving her what she wanted, her fingers slipping down his back finding the hard, muscular globes of his ass and holding on as if she too was afraid he’d leave her. Lifting his head finally, he gazed down into her dilated eyes seeing only the lust that they shared, no fear, no desire to leave him, the question on his lips was left unasked when her eyes begged him to take her to the heavens they found together repeatedly during the night. Dipping his head back down, Jon took her mouth with a half-desperate, needy intensity that brought a gasp to her lips as she shivered from the beginnings of orgasm that having him want her that much started.

Rubbing her leg against his hip to open herself for him, then feeling his hands slide under her bottom and lift her against the cold tile of her shower securing her against that wall. Helping her wrap her legs around his waist before lowering her onto the rod of her desire, her eyes widening as she could feel the heat and length of him entering her, licking her bottom lip and sucking it inside her mouth as it unleashed waves of spasms from deep within her, groaning loudly when he thrust deeply. Lost to thought, to anything except the feel of him sending her to the heavens yet again as the water sluiced down their bodies, Amber screamed when she flew over the edge feeling Jon empty himself inside her at almost the same moment, wishing they could stay like this forever. Unable to concentrate when his mouth was back on her again, sweetly kissing her eyelids, her nose and then her mouth and she could think of nothing except how much she enjoyed him and their time together. Opening her eyes she was startled by the melancholy sadness that seemed to be deep within the electric blueness of them. “What’s wrong?”

“I don’t know, maybe you can tell me. You’re crying darlin’.”

And she realized that she was. “It was so spectacular that it made me cry is all.”

“You’re a bad liar,” his fingers lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes.

She’d lowered them to avoid thinking about how much she wanted to stay right here, against the wall with him inside her, keeping him to herself and yet knowing that he’d leave soon for his home and life that didn’t include her. “I want to keep you here and I know I can’t.”

“I never said I had to leave. You’re the one that gave me the idea you wanted me to go.”

Whispering then, her voice failing her when she needed it most “I never want you to leave, but you have a life outside of my bathroom.”

Chuckling deeply at the thought of staying in her bathroom, Jon smiled softly “that I do, baby, as do you, apparently. How about we wash up and see about finding a way to include each other in our lives.”

“I’d like that.” Deeply feeling the loss of him when he lowered her to the shower floor, so she could stand on her own and finish the shower she’d started before he joined her in more ways than one. Hating that within the next hour or so she would have to leave for the airport to pick up Rafe and pretend that she hadn’t just come from Jon’s bed and arms.

Chapter 12

Amber awoke to the sweet acoustic strains of Bed of Roses being played on a guitar, Jon Bon Jovi’s voice crooning the words softly, not remembering putting a CD in her player, slowly opening her eyes, she was startled to realize that sun was streaming into her bedroom and he was sitting casually on her bed, the autographed guitar she’d won during a fan club trip auction balanced on his lap. Her heart flipped over as he smiled lazily at her, continuing the song, memories of their night of love flashing through her brain, how he made sweet love to her, how she’d played connect the dots with her tongue down his body with special attention to one she particularly loved just above the v that led to his wondrous cock that she spent long minutes lovingly showing how much she wanted it. That he told her in the heat of the moment that he loved her hadn’t registered then and now she suspected it was a rash statement made without thought or meaning, although seeing him naked playing that guitar was doing odd things to her insides.

“Morning” he purred after finishing the song, putting the guitar aside and bending forward to kiss her tenderly.

“Morning. That was an incredible way to wake up.”

“My pleasure darlin’.”

“Tell me the guitar was laying out in the living room” realizing that he’d most likely found it in her spare bedroom that was decorated in Bon Jovi memorabilia and wincing at him having seen the extensiveness of her collection.

Laughing lightly, he shook his head, the blond hair flying and she noticed he was unshaven this morning, the light stubble covering his jaws sending shimmering need down to her already wet pussy. “Oh god, you went in there didn’t you?”

“You did say you were a fan.” Kissing her again, wanting her to forget that he’d invaded her privacy and the one room that fascinated him with an unvarnished look at how much she loved the band before ever meeting him. That he autographed every piece she owned with personalized messages was his secret, it would be a surprise the next time she walked into that room. “I am impressed with your collection. So what do you want to hear next, darlin’?” He straightened and began strumming absently.

“How about ‘I Am’ or maybe a couple of verses of fuck me until I can’t walk?”

Chuckling at the heat that was coming from her gaze directed at his semi-hard cock, he laid the guitar back down onto the floor and crawled across to where she was laying. “Your wish is my command.”

Hours later his cell phone ringing woke them from post coital bliss, rolling over Jon reached for it and cursed before answering. “Damn it, Evan’s on the phone. What the hell am I going to tell him?”

“That you got sidetracked? I don’t know! Just don’t tell him you’re here.” Crawling away as if to escape the intrusion from her boss, Amber gathered the sheet to cover her nakedness.

Chuckling at her deer in the headlights look with the sheet grasped tightly against her breasts, Jon couldn’t help but comment “he can’t see you darlin’. Let me take this and we’ll deal with it. Hey Evan, what’s up?” He leaned towards her so she could hear both ends of the conversation.

“So where’d you vanish off to so quickly?”

“I had something come up that I had to take care of.” His eyes were glittering with humor at the way he was avoiding the subject, while caressing the inside of Amber’s thigh even as she batted at his fingers.

“I’ll bet. So what did you think of my assistant? Sweet little piece isn’t she?”

“Now Evan, that’s no way to talk about an employee. I’m certain you can say more about her than that.” Her interest piqued when he began leading Evan on with his questions. Never had she expected her proper boss to talk about her like she was meat.

“Yeah, when it comes to business. Girl’s a cracker jack and doesn’t even know it and isn’t paid anywhere near what she’d be worth if she showed some moxie. Hell, just yesterday she brought me an idea that will make the company millions and she won’t see a dime. But outside the office, I’m telling you Jon, if I wasn’t married I’d be chasing that tail. Never saw her look so good as she did last night and Jesus, she’s got more curves than the Shenandoah Parkway.”

It was all Jon could do to fend her hands off that were grabbing at the phone to tell her boss off. He realized immediately that he shouldn’t have let her hear what Evan was saying. “Yeah, well, I gotta go, what’d you call about?”

“The car, man. When you coming to get her?”

“Shit, I nearly forgot all about it. Okay, I’ll be over around, say six?”

“Perfect, we’re grilling out anyway, you can stay for dinner.”

“Fine, I’ll see you then.” He hung up the phone quickly to the sounds of her protests. “You tell me not to let him know we’re together and then you’re trying to steal the phone away? What’s going on in your head?”

“Him! How dare he speak of me like that and what the hell did he mean they’d make millions off that idea? It was just a new program idea, I pass them along all the time. It’s my job.”

“Apparently you’re underpaid. What do you do there?”

“I’m Evan’s assistant. I read through the piles of program ideas that come in unsolicited every day and try to find fresh new ideas that haven’t been done already. When I find something, I pass it to Evan. That’s it.”

Thinking on it, he took on a serious expression. “How long have you been doing this?”

“Six years, I was Dan’s assistant before that. He taught me what I know and I passed on that knowledge to Evan so he can more effectively do his job.”

“Why didn’t you take the job when your old boss left?”

Smiling over at him for seeming so interested in her boring life, Amber lost herself in his eyes for a moment. “I’m a woman and they wanted a man for the job.”

Frowning then, Jon looked questioningly “that’s discrimination.”

“Welcome to the real world, rock star.” She said teasingly, then leaned towards him and bit his lower lip to end the conversation.

Jon understood her reluctance to discuss it with him, after all, so far they’d only been sex partners. “Is that what you think of me?” A part of him was hurt by the teasing comment.

“No, just that in your world getting discriminated against because you’re a woman doesn’t happen.”

Gathering her to him, he brushed her blond hair out of her face with his fingers and stroked her cheek. “In my world you’d get preferential treatment. Come with me tonight to Evan’s, let me show you that I’m not using you.”

Her mind was reeling, how did he know that was what she was thinking? That this was just a fling to him in the aftermath of his divorce. It didn’t make sense, yet looking across the room at her calendar she noted that today’s date was circled. “I can’t. Really, I can’t. You go ahead, we’ll catch up later.” Bouncing out of bed, she grabbed her robe and headed for the bathroom, closed the door behind her and gasped silently to herself.

Chapter 11

Reaching the edge of the bed his hands hit the comforter and moved forward towards her using them along with his legs to crawl across the soft blue flowered material towards her. “You look good enough to eat.”

“You already did that,” she giggled as his tongue flicked out and lashed against her inner thigh “this time I want those two lips on my two lips.”

“Yes ma’am” continuing his crawl he hovered over her, lowering himself down onto his elbows he caught her hair in his hands on both sides of her head, his long graceful fingers laced through the heavy locks of her blond hair. “Have I told you today how beautiful you were in that dress?” His lips lowered to catch hers gently, kissing her with tightly restrained passion that flowed into her mouth as he increased the pressure ever so fluidly, feeling her open for him as his tongue found hers and instinctively taught it how to satisfy his desires. Amber shuddered with her need again so soon after having experienced an incredible orgasm thanks to his talented mouth and fingers, never in all the years she’d been a fan had she anticipated all of her sexual fantasies of his mouth and fingers would be pale in comparison to the reality.

Her arms lifted of their own volition, wrapping around him, urging his body down against hers, all of that luscious fur on his chest rasping against the silky smoothness of her skin, shivering from the contact with her nipples, heightening her desire and the wetness between her legs. Running her hands down his back, feeling the ripples of muscle as he moved against her, dipping his head, his lips, teeth and tongue sliding around to her ear, she gasped at the way he could send shivers down her spine that pooled at the juncture of her thighs. Nothing in her dreams had prepared her for the exquisite feelings he produced within her nor how quickly her love for him as a musician and rock idol transformed into an unquenchable need for the love of the man.

Her nails lightly raked across and up his lower back, unable to reach his buttocks since he was a man on the move, crawling back down her body, his mouth tasting the long, slender column of her neck, small sounds of appreciation emanating from his throat, she could only imagine it was her nails scratching across the muscles that he liked. She continued as he worshiped her body with his mouth, finding one jewel hard nipple, he licked around the areola, then settled down to suck it, biting lightly and sending frissons of heightened desire through her. Hearing someone moaning in her ears, Amber realized the sound came from her. His beautiful shaggy head was busy ministering to her breasts, first one, then the other, while his fingers rolled the opposite nipple between them, pressing on it with exactly the right pressure, she arched against his touch, finding herself lost in the perfection of his seduction.

Jon refused to think about how he felt about this particular woman, he’d spent the better part of his days since having her in the plane thinking about her shy acceptance of his seduction, the wanton desire flashing in her eyes when he entered the bathroom and her sweet mouth on his cock, when dozens of women had been wanton and done what she had. There was something about her though that had captured his attention and now, here in her bed making sweet love to her felt like coming home and he didn’t want to examine the reasons for it, not when he had such a hot piece under him writhing like a woman possessed and he ached to be inside her for the foreseeable future.

Biting down on her nipple and at the same time reaching down to slide his hand between their bodies, he was gratified to find her dripping with desire, his fingers finding her bud and stroking it until she was bucking against him, begging to have him inside her exactly where he wanted to be.

Holding tight against her, his eyes looked up at hers and saw the blatant desire, the need that was reflected in his own. Unwilling to make her wait when he had no wish to wait either, he slid upwards, urging her knees apart as he moved stealthily up, his brilliant blue eyes not leaving her hungry brown ones as he entered her, his mind consumed with reaching nirvana with her.

Amber inhaled sharply as she felt the head of his penis easily glide into her passage, her body contracting instinctively against the intrusion that was as welcome as his mouth covering hers again. Fighting the urge to cram her full at ramming speed, Jon slowly continued the invasion, relishing the hot, wet vessel that fit him so perfectly, burying his tongue in her mouth, he groaned when she grabbed his ass with both hands and sank her nails in the taunt flesh urging him to sink deeper inside her. Complying with her desires, he sank hilt deep and wanted more, holding himself up with one hand he grabbed her thigh with the other and lifted it until it rested on his shoulder and then repeated the action with her other leg.

Amber’s whimpers against his mouth were driving him crazy, she was begging for more and he began the slow withdrawal and reentry that he knew would take her to the edge, where he wanted her. Pumping as she responded from beneath him, he could feel himself losing control and wanted her as badly as he had desired his first hit years before. The feel of her, the response she was giving him was as much a drug as the feeling of standing on stage getting the audience reaction of thousands. Their mutual coupling, both urging the other on, both wanting it harder, deeper, faster was their entire focus, nothing else mattered, they both were lost in the hot, sweaty need they had to come together.

The explosion of her orgasm rippled around him, following on her heels, pouring himself into her sweet, hot pussy and collapsing on top of her in sheer sexual exhaustion. Only the unaccustomed feeling of something stepping across him brought his attention away from the flawlessness of the woman half asleep beneath him.

“What the...” his voice trailed away as he noticed the small black and white cat making herself comfortable on the bed next to her owner, whose hand unconsciously went to it and began stroking it absently. The cat started purring on contact and Jon mused to himself something about a pair of contented pussies, closing his eyes as the sound lulled him off to sleep immediately after he slipped off of Amber’s body and gathered her against him to relish the scent and feel of her.

Chapter 10

“Boss, could you ask your lady...”

“Her name is Amber and ask yourself.” Jon wasn’t taking kindly to being interrupted at the moment, he was hard as all hell and wanted to strip off the dress he’d just helped her put back on.

Gasping from the intensity of their kissing, she shook the cobwebs from her mind “yes?”

“We’re on Freedom, but I don’t see any red brick.”

Punching the button of the window, she looked out to see where they were. “Turn around and go back, you’ve passed it by about six blocks.” She left the window down so she could keep track and get them home quickly since the thought of having him in the middle of her soft, inviting bed was more inducement right now than her better sense that he shouldn’t ever enter. “Stop. It’s the one with the light in the yard on the left.” As she directed they pulled up in front of her house. “Thank you.” She lightly said as she stepped from the vehicle, glancing over at her neighbor that she knew would be peering through her blinds. Hooking her arm in Jon’s she escorted him to her front door, unlocked it and turned on the hall light before closing the door behind them. Having heard Jon tell Kevin goodnight and he’d see him in Jersey, she suspected he was hers for the night.

Depositing her key on the hook by the door, she smiled to herself when her sweet little black and white tuxedo cat approached, chattering about her not being home earlier. “Hey Bounce, come here baby.” Scooping up the now purring cat, she scratched her behind the ears and deposited a sweet kiss on her head. “This is Bounce. See baby, this is the man that wrote the song you were named after.” Almost in answer she peered up at Jon standing slightly apart from the two and meowed softly. “See Jon, she appreciates you too” laughing at the somewhat pained expression on his face. Ruffling her ears once again, Amber deposited the cat back down on the hall floor and slipped across the hall, wrapping her arms around his hard, muscular shoulders. “I prefer kissing you though.” Purring in her own way as she found herself dragged tightly against the solid wall of his chest.

“I prefer something a little more intimate than kissing you.” His mouth came down on hers then, with almost bruising power enveloping her mouth in a crushing kiss that was as powerful as the lust growing inside him.

Amber gave herself over to him, as hungry for more of him as he was her, the feeling of his growing need pressing against the soft burgundy fabric of her evening gown. She began tugging at him, not willing to break the kiss or the hip to shoulder contact yet wanting to feel his naked body against hers in a regular bed instead of the back seat of a limo or fully dressed in an airplane bathroom. It was indelibly etched in her brain that she’d been laid by her rock idol twice and yet hadn’t gotten a thorough look at him naked and that was something she desperately needed to experience. Reluctantly at first he followed, not familiar with her place or where she was leading, even though as she backed up with him caught in her arms they were dropping clothing in a trail towards what he hoped was her bedroom. No words were exchanged as they clung to each other, stripping off each other’s clothes and fondling the bare skin they exposed as it was uncovered. At the doorway to her bedroom, she stopped, he was down to his trousers and socks, she only had her panties and bra left. Coming up for air, she gazed into those hypnotizing blue eyes that were glittering with passion, exhaled and was enchanted. “This is a dream.”

His hands stroked her from her long flowing blond hair, across her slender tanned shoulders, down her arms and around her back, cupping her bottom through the flimsy silk in his long, strong fingers. “Don’t wake me then, it’s one I’ve imagined since the plane.” With that his lips found hers and this time his touch was gentle and filled with a sweetness that she didn’t know was possible. Inching her backwards, the bed now within his sight, invading her mouth, memorizing the contours with his tongue, one arm still wrapped around her, his hand tight against her ass, the other unsnapping her bra releasing the luscious globes of her breasts for his appreciation. Feeling her body stop against the edge of the bed, his hands pulled off the offending piece of lace before he lifted her and laid her back on the bed, his mouth trailing wet kisses down her stomach and thighs as he stripped her thong off and discarded it on the floor. The heat rising within her as his lips followed the path of her panties, sucking and nipping on her bare skin as he made his way to the object of his interest. She gasped when his fingers separated the lips of her labia and his tongue followed into the folds, lapping at her sensitized skin, sucking on the hardening tip of her clitoris and sending any thoughts she’d had of covering the poster at the foot of her bed from her mind as she began gasping from the expertise of his ministrations.

Grabbing at air as she attempted to reach him and pull him onto the bed, it registered that he was on his knees on the floor bringing her the intense pleasure she was enjoying. Instead grabbing handfuls of her bedspread, Amber licked her lips and moaned as the lights behind her closed eyelids began to explode. “Oh god, Jon please, please stop!”

His head came up at her words, he didn’t recall any woman including his ex ever telling him to stop. “Something wrong?”

“Oh god yes! I want you inside me, now! I can’t hold on much longer.”

Chuckling his deep, sensuous laugh, his head dipped back between her thighs, the sound of his voice vibrating against her sensitive skin “next time darlin”, his fingers had stopped their motion inside her body when she protested and now the two fingers that had been buried inside her went back to stroking her from inside while his tongue tasted and laved the sweet saltiness of her as he measured her breathing, listening as it became ragged and finally broke as she rushed into her orgasm alone.

Satisfied, he stood unzipping his slacks and dropped them on the already clothes covered chair in the corner. Walking back towards the bed he noticed his face staring back at him and frowned slightly, saw her sprawled on her bed post orgasm, her eyes hooded beneath her long lashes watching his reaction. “You did mention you’re a fan, but do we have to sleep with him?” Jerking his thumb towards the poster from the Keep the Faith days of him standing with his arms out and legs crossed, what he knew was called his Jesus pose.

Shaking her head, Amber giggled as he grabbed a t-shirt without looking at it to hang over the poster.

“What’s funny?” he asked as he nonchalantly headed back to her, now laying there her head propped up on one arm.

“Look!” She pointed at the picture and enjoyed his groan as he recognized one of the tour shirts from Crush. “Just take the picture down for now and set it over there. I told you that you didn’t want to come here.”

“Any more surprises?”

“None if you stay in here until I tidy up the rest of the place.”

Shrugging it off, he didn’t want to think about the rest of her place and how much of a fan she was when her delectable body was displayed in all its glory for him naked and willing directly in front of him.
